Building Relationships By Phone

by: Rob Brown

The telephone has arguably done more to help sales professionals than any other invention in history. And still it is the most under-utilised tool in your toolbox. Note I don't say under-used, because if you're like most professionals, you are probably on the phone more than two hours a day. The question is, how effective are you at using the phone to move your prospects closer to the sale and going deeper with your clients/customers to generate more sales and cross-selling opportunities?

It's a fact that some people are naturally good on the phone. Others need to work at it. Here are some key skills and qualities you need to be good on the phone. You only need to be weak in one or two of these areas to undermine your performance and stop you getting excited about using the phone.

A clear voice. Talking slower and in a lower pitch has also been found to yield better results than fast, high pitched talking

Self belief. You should be confident in what you say and deliver. Just as dogs can smell fear, prospects and contacts can smell ‘unbelief' and lack of conviction.

A good smile. Sounds funny, but ‘smile while you dial' works. People can tell if you're smiling, and joy is infectious!

Patience. You could be the wrong idea at the right time. You could be the right person with the wrong deal. For a hundred reasons, they may not be ready for you now, or see what you see as quickly as you want them to see it. Business relationships are a long term game, not a one night stand.

Resilience. You'll get knocked back, insulted, shouted at, ignored, bored to death and rejected. Everyone does. The ones who can bounce back are the ones who tend to be the most successful in the long term.

Organisation. Get your desk sorted, your database sorted, your diary sorted and your time management nailed. You can't build and maintain relationships without investing time, and that means getting organised.

Reading people. You might say this is hard to do on the phone. But if you're honest, you can tell when people are busy, when they're stressed or what kind of a mood they're in. Make it a skill that you can gauge people's reactions and responses and your phone calls will be much more productive!

Closing skills. Can you ask the courageous questions or do you fudge round the issues? If you can't, all of your relationship building counts for nothing but good feelings.

Persistence. Can you keep going until you hear a ‘no'? Resilience is bouncing back. Persistence is keeping going, through rough days, through tough times, through lean periods. Research shows that 48% of people stop after the 2nd call and Most give up after the third. However, there is a 68% success rate on the 4th call.

If you're going to use the phone as a tool for building relationships, you need to know the nature of the beast. There are seven advantages and seven disadvantages of using the phone

On balance, you'd much rather be with a phone than without one, and in the age of mobiles, we're never more than a phone call from pretty much anyone we want to talk with. So why do we still hesitate to use the phone to full potential? Sales professionals have three areas for concern;

Knowing What To Say (Knowledge)

There is only one way round this one – scripts. People worry that scripts are wooden and false. Let's disprove that. Think of your favourite movie. Now think how it made you feel. Happy? Sad? Entertained? Scared? Thrilled? Moved? Consider that every word in that film was written, rehearsed and performed a hundred times by the time it gets to you. And it still evoked that passion and feeling in you. Consider the great songs which move you and bring you to tears or lift you up. Again, all scripted, I'm afraid. Never underestimate the power of a well-crafted and well-delivered word or phrase to elicit the response you want.

“The worst time to think of the best thing to say is as the words are coming out of your mouth”

Knowing How To Say It (Skill)

There is only one way round this one – practice. Everything is difficult before it becomes easy. Think of the first time you learned to ride a bike, to swim or to drive. You get better at what you do a lot of.

Nervous About Doing It (Behaviour)

There is only one way round this one – get motivated! Here are a few reasons why you must pick up that phone;

You need the business

You need the money!

It keeps you in touch.

It keeps your skills fresh.

Others will if you don't.

If you've said in the past you'll call and you don't, what will they think of you?

How much might you lose by not making the call?

If you don't call, you'll never know.

Circumstances change – they might just need to hear from you.

Consider the lifetime value of these calls – a customer sticking with you for five years spending ?500 a year means ?2500 of income. That's worth picking up the phone, right?

If relationships are grown by investing time and effort, then we need to see the phone as a way to connect with people. I once saw two guys waiting for a delayed flight out of Dublin. In one hour, one read the paper and the other made 2o phone calls. Some seemed to be just to voicemail but you just know he was great at keeping in touch. The lesson here is to maintain contact.

Finally, although I've yet to meet anyone who can build a better relationship by phone than I can face to face, there are a few more strategies you can use to get people talking and go deep with your key contacts. Use what my friend Art calls ‘verbal nods'. When face to face, we indicate we're into the conversation with facial expressions and body language, including nodsof the head. What do you do by phone? On the phone, these go, so a healthy sprinkling words and phrases such as ‘uh-huh', ‘I see' and ‘interesting' can keep the kettle boiling.

Encourage people to talk with prompts such as ‘go on', ‘tell me more' and ‘expand on that if you would'. Use good questions such as ‘how do you mean?' and ‘why is that?' to get under the skin of issues and problems they might have.

The last word is on smiling. As obvious as it seems, there is no doubt it works. It's tough to sound downbeat or boring when you smile. ‘Face-to-face, we connect with others more easily when they smile, and perceive them as more likeable,' says Art ‘The same holds true on the phone.'

So pick up the phone, pick up your relationships and pick up your sales!

About The Author

Rob Brown can help you network more effectively, build your personal brand and Turn Relationships Into Profits.
A Guide to Information on Internet Phone or VOIP

by: Ted King

What you are about to read... will reveal to you what you should know about a new telephone communication technology called Internet Phone or Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP).

VoIP came about in 1995 when some computer programmers made voice connections between computers. Later that year, a software package was developed, and using the modem, speakers, microphone and sound card, one computer user was able to speak to another.

The process used involves converting the analog voice to digitized form. That involves breaking the voice down into steps that are then assigned numeric values. Then the data is compressed. After compression, the data is divided into packets that are transmitted over the Internet. Identifying information such as origin, destination, etc., are added that allows for reconstruction at the receiving end. At this point the packets are converted back to analog and the person on the other end of the line can hear the caller's voice.

As Internet Phone technology improved, by 1998, gateways had been established allowing a PC to connect to a phone. Later that year, it was possible to make phone-to-phone connections using the Internet. Phone-to-phone connections still required a computer to initiate the call, but once the connection was established, callers could use a standard phone set. Today, the computer is no longer needed. All one needs is a telephone (your regular telephone will do), an adapter, and an Internet connection either broadband or DSL, and a service provider. The telephone is connected to the adapter, which is connected to the Internet connection without the need to connect to a computer. For the best quality and to get normal phone company features such as call waiting, etc., you need a VoIP service provider. There are a number of them competing for your business so you need to do some research to find one that is best for you.

If you sign up with an Internet Phone service provider you can get unlimited calls within the country for a small monthly fee! International calls can also be made for a lot less than the cost of regular service. Features like call forwarding, call waiting, voicemail, caller ID and 3way-calling, are included with Internet Phone at no extra charge. While you're talking on the phone, you can send pictures and documents at the same time.

Like all new technologies, VoIP had some problems at first, but is now becoming more reliable and receiving wider acceptance. One thing it has done for you already is that phone companies are beginning to use the technology to provide cheaper long distance rates.

At this time there are several disadvantages to using Internet Phone. Unlike telephone company service, you will lose your connection during a power outage. The solution to this problem is to have battery backups installed.

There is also a problem calling 911. But, there is a system in development to overcome this problem. There are also call quality and reliability problems with VOIP. The two biggest issues that affect call quality are the distance of the call and the speed of the Internet connection. However, as the system matures, these are becoming less and less of a problem.

In the future, VoIP will probably become the standard for telephone service. So, go out and get hooked up with Internet Phone and save yourself some money.

About The Author

Article by Ted King who shows you how to save money on your phone bill.
50 Emergency Uses For Your Camera Phone

by: Paul Purcell

In an emergency you?ll need to provide and receive help, and after it?s over, you?ll have to return, repair, and rebuild. Central to all this is communication and documentation. Our society loves red tape, especially after disasters. Below are 50 ways the camera phone can be used in an emergency to document, record, and relay important information.

Any camera could be used for some of these things, but the phonecam carries a distinct advantage. It can immediately transmit your pictures. If you don?t have a phonecam, go with what you have, or what you can afford. Disposable cameras and digital cameras are acceptable. However, the phonecam rules, so let?s look at ways yours can be used in an emergency. These are excerpts from ?Disaster Prep 101?.

1. Last minute child ID. Whenever the family might be separated, take last-minute pictures of all family members, especially the kids, and pets.

2. Send a map. To send or receive directions to or from a location when voice directions aren?t working, draw a map on paper, take a picture, and send.

3. Injury photos to the doctor. Suppose help isn?t available, and someone?s sick or injured. If there are visible signs or symptoms, relay pictures to medical personnel who can walk you through whatever treatment is possible where you are.

4. Damage documentation. In catastrophes, it?ll be days before insurance adjusters get there to file claims. Photo all damage in case some of it gets repaired or cleaned up before agents arrive.

5. Report suspicious activity. If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood, upload pictures of suspects and the situation to the Police immediately.

6. ?Here?s the landmark.? Gathering the family is critical. If you don?t have a fixed meeting place, send pictures of where and what you?re near so others can find you. This also works well if you?re lost in the wilderness and need to relay pictures of landmarks.

7. ?Meet us here.? If you have a fixed rendezvous point, send a pic you already have on file, so others will know where to meet. Take these photos while compiling your family emergency plan.

8. Photo shopping list. When stocking up in anticipation of an emergency, take a picture of your pantry as a quick shopping list.

9. Driving directions. If you?re trying to tell others where a certain location is, send a picture by picture set of directions. Create this file while assembling your family reaction plan.

10. ?Meet this person.? If your family evacuates, and they know where to go, but haven?t met the family contact person, send them a picture of the person they?re to meet, or send that person pictures of the people heading their way.

11. Last minute property inventory. If you?re evacuating, snap quick shots of your property to include purchases not on your last home inventory, and the current condition of your property.

12. ?Adventure? journal. Take pictures to record what you do, where you go, and people you meet during an evacuation, etc.

13. Situational severity. In a large-scale emergency, first responders will be overworked. They might not be available for a ?minor situation.? However, the situation might be worse than they understand, and you might need serious help. Send a picture of how bad things are.

14. Quick text messaging. You might not have time to type a message, and the lines might not be open long enough for a conversation. Write a note on paper, take a picture, and send that.

15. Minor traffic mishap. In a minor fender-bender, with no injuries or disabled vehicles, most jurisdictions will tell you to ?swap info and move along.? If that?s the case (always call 911 to make sure), photo the vehicular damage, people involved, witnesses at the scene (and their car tag numbers), and of others involved in the accident to show their injuries (or lack thereof).

16. Wallet backup. Take pictures of your wallet?s contents (or important documents) to record numbers, and show that cards are or were in your possession. Be careful with this info as it?s very sensitive and can be used for identity theft!

17. Inclement weather reporting. If you?re the first to see the funnel cloud, hail, or a river overflowing, send a picture to the weather service or authorities as rapid proof an emergency is developing.

18. First Responder intel. The more first responders know about a collapsed house, an auto accident, a fire in progress, or any other emergency, the more rapid and appropriate a reaction they can make.

19. Missing persons. Send picture of picture. In addition to last minute family photos, send a picture of a photograph in your purse or wallet of a missing family member.

20. Relay property damage to or from neighbors. After a disaster, whoever goes home first, either you or your neighbors, could photograph area damage and relay info to the other.

21. Help insurance adjusters find your property. After a devastating incident, street signs will be gone, house numbers won?t be visible, etc. Take current pictures of landmarks or unique damage near or at your property to make it easier to find you.

22. Copy bulletin boards. If you?re in an emergency shelter, and there?s an info bulletin board, you?ll need the info but might not be able to write it down. Take a picture!

23. Bus, subway, or city map. If you?re anywhere you?re not familiar with and there?s a posted map, take a picture of it for later reference if you get lost.

24. Document your route. When traveling to a new area, and you want to find your way back, take pictures along the way of landmarks at turns you make, forks in the road, etc.

25. Record medicines or food brands. To relay information about medications, or if you have special dietary needs and are sending information regarding certain brands to someone, a picture really is worth a thousand words.

26. Parking spot locations. Don?t trust your memory, trust a picture. Take a pic of where you left your vehicle either in a lot or in a parking deck.

27. Engine repairs. Should you break down and your vehicle shows outward signs of problems such as steam shooting from a hose, or liquids dripping from the engine, send a pic to a mechanic who may talk you through a quick fix.

28. Business or service function and hours. Copy posted business hours or listed service functions (and pricing) for later review and recall. This is also a good way to report price gouging.

29. Child custodian. If you can?t get to your kids at school or other function, relay a picture of the person who is coming to pick them up. Send this picture to the school or function, and to your child (if they have a phonecam).

30. Info on injured or hospitalized people. You might be in a position to send pictures to people looking for loved ones or vice-versa.

31. Hotel room number. Whenever you get a hotel room, take a picture to find your way back. Photo the room number on the door, and the name of the motel and adjacent buildings.

32. ID your evac gear. As with all belongings, take a picture to prove ownership. This might come in handy with theft in emergency shelters. It?s a rare occurrence, but be ready to prove things are yours.

33. Photo scavenger hunt. You?ll need something to entertain the kids. Give them a short list of things they should take a picture of. First one to take all the pictures wins!

34. Identify the close-up. Another idea is to take a really close up picture of something while the kids aren?t looking, and have them figure out what it is.

35. Document your whereabouts. Let?s say looting or rioting is occurring. You can help Police by secretively taking pictures of the perpetrators (not really recommended for safety reasons), or take pictures as you?re leaving to document the fact you weren?t involved.

36. ID the rescuer. If a rescuer is picking up your child or pet, photo the rescuer (and the child or pet) and the vehicle they used. Photograph their name tag as well as registration numbers on helicopters, vehicle tag numbers, or names of boats.

37. Document your cleanup. It may be a while before your insurance adjuster can arrive. Take pictures of the damage as you found it, and steps you took during cleanup. Regarding insurance, NOTHING beats documentation!

38. Document expenditures. If you buy goods or supplies, rent equipment, or hire a service, in addition to receipts, photograph the goods acquired, equipment being used, services being performed, and the people involved.

39. Property pics for retrieval companies. Some scenarios will see you unable to return home. Some companies are trained and equipped to go into these areas to gather people?s belongings. Property photos will allow you to identify specific items you?d like retrieved.

40. Evacuee status. Authorities will want to know who is injured, dead, or missing, and who is okay and where they are. Taking pictures of those you meet along with way, or at your emergency shelter, will help ID the living and well.

41. Language barriers. Ever try to find the restroom in a foreign country and you didn?t know the phrase? Imagine how guests in our country feel in emergency situations. Pictures make communication easier, whether you?re trying to understand their needs, or relay yours.

42. Transmit road conditions. Let?s say after a hurricane, you?re one of the first families returning home, and you?re taking back roads. Authorities (or others following) might not have checked every avenue of return. If damage needs to be reported, or there?s no damage (report that too), sending a picture can relay tons of information.

43. Relay traffic conditions. If family members are separated, or heading different directions, pass along traffic conditions or info from traffic warning signs.

44. Crime scene evidence. People have returned to a home undamaged by a disaster, but later looted. Since Police might not be able to show up right away, take ?crime scene? photos (for both Police and insurance).

45. Too much on the screen? Should the TV flash pertinent information and you don?t have time to write, or there?s a lot of text on a computer and you can?t print it, take a picture of the screen for later review.

46. ID for doctors or pharmacies. Medical needs are a real probability during an emergency. Since you can?t get to your doctor, and they might phone in a prescription to a pharmacy that doesn?t know either of you, use your phone to verify your identity to your doctor, and your doctor can relay the picture to the pharmacy.

47. Emergency supply information. Suppose a developing emergency finds you low on goods and you send different people to different supply locations. If supplies are low, these folks can send a picture of the types or brands of items available so you can make educated purchase decisions.

48. ?Last Minute List? items and shutdown. Though everyone should keep a ?bugout kit? packed and ready, there will be items which cannot be packed in advance. In addition to a written list, create a photo file showing items you need to take (and their location) and steps to secure the house before leaving.

49. Evac atlas. Create a ?travel atlas? of emergency assets available along evacuation routes. Include lodging, ATM locations, emergency rooms, etc. Travel the routes and take photos, or draw maps and shoot those.

50. Reaction plan for the reading disabled. If a family member suffers from any reading disability, using photos is a must. Create a photo file that will relay your entire emergency plan without using text.mes of boats.

39.
The Razr Family is Expanding! Razr V3i, Pink Razr, Blue Razr, Verizon Razor

by: Sam Michelson

Motorola Razr for CDMA Users

Motorola is marketing different phones for men and women. Moto?s newest line of pink and blue Razr offspring seems to assume that there are men who will prefer blue and women who will want the pink one. They?re probably right!

The classic Silver Motorola Razr captured the lion?s share of new cell phone buying over the past year or so, causing Motorola to encroach on Nokia?s enviable leading position.

Motorola is planning to cash in on its huge success with the razor thin look and feel of the original Razr v3. The NPD Group, a leading cellular market researcher, found that Motorola cell phone sales accounted for 30% of the 31.6 million cell phones sold in the third quarter of 2005. The Motorola V3i with iTunes software and the Pink and Blue cell phones promise to give Motorola an ever-increasing share of the cell phone market.

People who care about how they look or want to make a statement, will be the first to get their Motorola Razr fix. These Razr thin phones are ceating a lot of attention - making them must-haves in some circles.

Mazal Tov!The Motorola Razor family is growing by four new members; Motorola RAZR Pink (RAZR PNK?) and Razr Blue, (RAZR BLU?) plus two new versions - Motorola CDMA RAZR for Verizon with EVDO and Motorola RAZR V3i (with iTunes). The new Razr phones include all the great features as the original models. The Blue and Pink versions are really style updates designed to make your cell phone an accessory - like a stylish watch.

The new CDMA version of Razr (for Verizon) will satisfy the appetite of Verizon Wireless subscribers who have long ogled over Cingular and T-Mobile?s Razr offerings. The Razr V3i aims to redeem Motorola?s slightly tarnished reputation when it comes to MP3 phones. Unlike the Rocker which had only music going for it, with the Razr V3i the MP3 capability is essentially an add-on.

The Motorola has not made a statement about the chosen carrier for the Motorola v3i many are speculating that Cingular is the choice. Besides being Razr thin like the original Razr v3 the new v3i has added appeal with the inclusion of the Apple i-Tunes software like on the Motorola ROKR released in September in by Cingular, Apple and Motorola. Cingular just slashed the price of the Motorola ROKR by 40% and several leading cell phone dealers like AmericanCell and YouNeverCall now have the Motorola phone available for free with the purchase of a new Cingular plan.

Until now the Motorola Rokr is the only cell phone around that plays tunes from the iTunes Music Store. Another new addition to the ever increasing Motorola Razr family is new Razr VC which operates on networks of CDMA standard wireless EVDO. Christmas holiday season shopping has now been enhanced with the inclusion of the Razr V3i which sports a 1.23-megapixel digital camera with 8x digital zoom, video capture and a full-screen viewfinder.

Additional features include a hot plugging memory card, a display with sixty-five K color support and built-in Bluetooth. For the late summer-early fall season Motorola earned a profit of $1.75 billion on revenue of $9.42 billion. Motorola stated that its monetary gains for this period were all due to the tremendous success of the Motorola Razr v3. Now Motorola is hoping to further push its financial gains for the next quarter! We?ll wait and see.

About The Author

Sam Michelson is a cell phone maven with over 10 years of hi-tech product marketing experience.
Be An Effective Mobile Phone Spy

by: Kingston Amadan

There are many ways to listen for important information that you can use in the future. Because most people own mobile phones, and because they are on the rise as a primary phone, it can be worth your while to learn to be a mobile phone spy. Private investigators and bounty hunters can use the techniques of a mobile phone spy in order to learn information for their clients and gather evidence. People can be quite unguarded while speaking on a cell phone; it can be the perfect way to hone your spying skills.

The effective mobile phone spy has the right equipment. Luckily, it is usually easier to get the right spy equipment in the cell phone department than it is in many other ways. Additionally, cell phone spy equipment is often less expensive than other equipment. If you are just getting your PI or bounty hunter business off the ground, starting out with some good cell phone bugging devices is a good way to start. It will help you get your feet wet and prove to clients that you have good equipment.

Another thing needed is to ensure that you do not miss important phone calls. For many a mobile phone spy, this ties right into having the right equipment. There are two different cell phone bugs that call you when a phone call is made. The Spy Matrix Cell Phone will give you a rig whenever a call is made, allowing you to listen in on the conversation without constantly checking to see if a call is being made. Likewise, basic cell phone bugs that share with the home phone can also call you whenever the phone line becomes active. This allows you to do more than one thing while waiting for the call.

Finally, the effective mobile phone spy has a means of recording the conversations she or he hears. This can be recording equipment attached to your end of the device, or it can be transmitted to a recording assembly (if you are using a phone that picks up signals near someone using a cell phone). It is always good to have the conversations available as evidence when you are a mobile phone spy.

(c) 2005 Copyright www.spyassociates.com.
5 Factors to Consider on Choose the Best Online Phone Cards For Your International Long Distance Calling Needs!

by: Karo Yegyan

Before starting to learn how to find Best Prepaid Phone Cards for your Domestic and International Long Distance calling needs, lets see what factors are important to choose the right Phone Cards. First of all I want to tell you One Truth: in general there is NO such a think as ?the Best Phone Card?. It all depends on your specific calling needs, habits and purposes: (To) Where You Call? , Who Calls?, Whom You Call?, From Where You Call? and How You Call?. Most likely not all of these will apply to you (usually one or two factors apply). By taking a moment on reading and comparing several cards? Terms/Conditions and Charging Fees, based on your calling needs, you will be able to choose the Right Card and use it over and over and SAVE BIG.

1) (To) Where You Call?-this means what country or what specific city in that country you wand to call.

Once you go to most of the Online Phone Cards Companies? Home Pages (For Ex. http://www.PhoneCardsGallery.com -by the way this is the website, from where I do almost all my online phone card purchases.), somewhere you can find ?Discount Calling Card Finder? or similar section. In the ?country? box choose your calling country & submit your search. The site?s searching tool will find all the cards which provide calling services to your country and will organize the cards with the highest calling minutes to the lowest minutes (Top Ranking). Now we know which cards give the best calling minutes to your country, but very important to consider the cards ?Qualities? also ( in http://www.PhoneCardsGallery.com the Quality shows by Blue Stars next to the Cards? names?). Always give preferences to those cards which have better Qualities. Having Local Access Numbers (for the State or City that you are located or you calling from) is also very important. It is recommended to choose a card that has Local Access numbers. Usually, by using Toll Free 1-800 number, instead of Local Access numbers, additional Per Minute Charges may apply. Some cards that have Local Access #s, in the card?s detail page, will provide a link (?Local Numbers?) to the new page with the list of all available Local Access #. Others the will provide (by Automated Answering Service) the Local Access # when you call by using their Toll Free # and choosing ?yes? to their question: ?Do you need Local Access # ?? In this case, after you get Local Access #, you need to hang up and call using given Local #.

2) Who Calls?- this means if you are using regular phone or payphone to make your calls. If you are using a payphone, in the cards? terms check if they charge additional fees for using a payphone, how much it is and compare with other cards to make your decision.

3) Whom You Call?- this means if you are calling to a regular phone or to a cell phone. If you are calling to a cell phone, in the Terms check if they charge different rates for cell phones and make your decision accordingly.

4) From Where You Call?- this means from which country (USA or Canada), State or City you are calling from. Some cards you can use only from certain states or cities and that usually very easy to notice: either card?s name include that state?s or city?s name (Ex. Crazy-Crazy Los Angeles) or nest to the card?s name it says the name of the state or the city for which that card is designed for. Usually those cards have Local Access #s for that state, county or city. If you see that the card, beside 800 #, has Local Access # also, then it means that the card is specialize or designed for that specific area only. Some cards could work only from specified location (state) and in the detail page of those cards, on the ?Toll Free? line will say ?(Works From X State Only!)?. So, be careful and do not buy these types of cards if you are not in that state. So, make your decision accordingly, and choose the cards that specialize on your state or city. Many cards have No Local Access numbers (they have only Toll Free #) and you can use them from any states.

5) How You Call? - This means that what are your calling durations and frequencies: are you going to make a few long calls with your card or many short calls? If you are planning to make one or two long phone calls, then the most important factor that you will need to consider is Calling Rate (or Calling Time). You will need to choose the cards that give higher calling minutes (same as lower calling rates). The Connection Fees, Maintenance Fees, Communication Fees, Minute Rounding Rates, Expiration Date and other similar fees and factors are not so important and relevant for long calls. However, those mentioned fees and factors are very important to consider if you going to make many (frequently) short calls. You may consider getting cards with comparably lesser calling minutes (higher rates) but minimum charges for above mentioned fees. In this case you also will need to prefer cards with longer Expiration Date and smaller rates for Minute Rounding. Therefore, the card with higher calling time is not necessary is the best card for you if you are planning to make short calls. To make frequent short calls, you will need a card with No Connection Fee, Minimum or No charges for Maintenance, Communication and also smaller number for Rounding Minutes. Generally short calls are those which are lasting less than 15 min.

By considering all the above mentioned factors and options, now you are able to choose the right cards that will SAVE you the most money. There are numerous prepaid phone cards out there and yes, there are some major differences between the fees they charge. If you are serious about getting the most out of your hard earned dollars, take the time and just one time compare different cards and choose the best one for your needs. Once you found the best one for your needs, you can use the same card over and over and SAVE MONEY and TIME.

Buying phone cards over the internet is safe, very convenient, cheap (mostly they sale with discounts) and profitable (they provide very useful tools which help users to compare and find the best cards (good rates, high qualities & having other important fetchers) for their different calling needs).

Below are the names of some famous online Phone Cards Companies:

PhoneCardsGallery, PhoneCardSavers, idPhoneCard, MasterBell, 1stPhoneCard, Zaptel, Zscomm, CallingCards, PhoneCardOnSale, RelianceIndiaCall, Tel3, OneSuite, ldpost, Raza, UnionTeleCard, PhoneShark, PinCity, PinOnSale, ThaiTel, PhoneCards-Prepaid, International-Phone-Card-Express, PrepaidTelecomhq, Reliablecom, Nobelcom, CentCalls, Connectto, TheRichCom, ECallChina?

Below are some Key Words to search for online Phone Cards Companies:

Phone Cards Gallery, Phone Card, Calling Card, Calling Card International, Prepaid Phone Card, Online Phone Card, International Phone Card, Calling Card Prepaid, Prepaid Calling Card, Long Distance Phone Card, Cheap Phone Card, Calling Card Cheap, International Prepaid Phone Card, Calling Card Online, Calling Card Phone, Phone Calling Card, Pre Paid Phone Card, Cheapest Phone Card, Prepaid Cell Phone Card, Cheap International Phone Card, Online International Phone Card, International Phone Calling Card?

About The Author

Karo Yegyan-Economist, Accountant, Entrepreneur, Business Researcher, Publisher with interest in fairness for consumer advice.

Copyright © 2005. www.PhoneCardsGallery.com All Rights Reserved.

Cell Phone Battery

by: Angela Oliver

Cell phone batteries and cell phone chargers

Cell phones have changed the way people live their lives. They can stay in touch and get things done without missing a beat. The amount of time people use of their cell phones continues to increase. As people are using cell phones as a business and home phone, it is necessary that they can withstand all the use. Without very powerful batteries, cell phones would not last very long against this increasing rate. If you own a cell phone, which you probably do, you can already understand the importance of a powerful battery and an effective charger. People don?t have time to wait for a battery to charge. That?s why cell phone batteries and cell phone chargers have come a long way to increase life and charging time.

Every so often, a new cell phone battery must be purchased. This usually happens when the cell phone battery life has been drained due to improper charging. However, new lithium ion batteries do not typically have this problem.

When purchasing an additional cell phone battery, the battery must be selected from the manufacturer, as the battery types differ greatly by brand and cell phone model. They are essentially the same type of battery, but design and technology of different cell phones require differently designed and developed batteries. Some batteries have more power if the cell phone runs more applications and programs than simply calling and storing numbers.

Cell phone charges are also different depending on brand and model. There are usually many options for cell phone chargers. Standard cell phone chargers are plug in, inexpensive, but do not charge very rapidly. Travel chargers that plug into a vehicles AC adapter are slightly more expensive, but charge cell phones very rapidly and are extremely convenient on the go. Desktop chargers are useful if you have an extra cell phone battery. They can charge the cell phone and the additional battery at the same time. That way you are always guaranteed a fully charged battery.

Cell phone batteries and chargers are constantly being developed to have longer life and be more powerful. Batteries will soon be introduced that charge to full capacity in minutes and last ten times longer than current batteries. As with most technology, it can change in the blink of an eye, but usually for the better.

About The Author

Angela Oliver writes for BatteryWeb at http://batteryweb.com/.
Cell Phone - Why Should I Upgrade

by: Declan Tobin

We hear from friends or just general chat by people wanting to upgrade their cell phones. There are a number of very good reasons to upgrade but unfortunately the main reason people upgrade and without thinking is because the cell phone manufacturers are blitzing us with advertising on a daily basis with new features. I bet you can pinpoint a few friends who have new cell phones and have no idea as to how to go about using all the key features.

Upgrading your cellular phone needs some careful thinking. Many of us upgrade for fashion purposes to keep up with modern looks, understandable if you have a cell phone from the early years you might want something a little more portable and flexible in use.

Upgrading still costs money so choose wisely. There are many different upgrade options today such as Camera cell phones; PDA Cell Phones, GPS Cell phones and now we have the new line of 3G cell phones available. Honestly the best place to choose a cell phone is on the Internet, it?s your decision and not the sale rep at some store twisting your arm for a sale and blinding you with useless information.

You need to know the differences and the different functionality of the cell phones before you just go ahead and upgrade. By doing a little research you get to choose exactly what fits your needs and budget. GPS phones (Global Positioning Satellite) are widely used by people with a love for climbing or adventure walking in remote regions.

GPS phones can be pinpointed to a pacific area should you be lost or in need of assistance, long distance drivers and employers also find good use for these phones. Employers can trace the whereabouts of employees or the phones themselves if lost or stolen.

PDA phones are ideal for people who like using pocket organisers. These phones are expensive but have similar functionality to that of a PC, ideal for office workers or sales reps.

Camera phones are self explanatory, simply a phone that can take photos. There is more to camera cell phones but in a nut shell that?s what they do. They are classed more of a fun phone to have and prove very popular among all age groups. Once you have an idea of what the different phones do and can?t do you are better placed to come up with an upgrade decision.

Flip phones are very popular at the moment, these are the phones with the pop up screen, they are available in Camera, PDA and GPS format but be aware they are not for everyone, I personally do not find them very user friendly but that?s my opinion, I like to just answer the incoming call without messing around with the phone.

The phones on today?s market a very light weight compared to the large style from years ago, those of you who still use these type phones today should look at upgrading and come to terms with the technology of today.

General advice:

If you experience a bad reception on a regular basis you should check with your cell phone carrier first before changing the phone, most of the time it tends to be a bad signal due to the cellular phone carrier rather than the fault of your phone, many people just jump and buy the phone only to find that they same problem is reoccurring. In certain area?s you may need a small cell phone antenna or booster costing very little to get a better reception.

Powering down very quickly:

If you find that your cell phone powers down too quickly the chances are you need a new battery, once again many people exchange the whole cell phone instead of just the battery. The conception that batteries are almost as costly as the cell phone is untrue. You can get batteries at very competitive pricing along with third party battery from different suppliers.

No Power:

If you find that you have no power in your cell phone even after charging for hours, it could be one of three things. Firstly the battery in the cell phone could be completely dead, secondly the recharge supply unit could have a problem and last of all it could be the cell phone itself, by eliminating the first two you could save yourself money. It may all seem common sense but you would be surprised at how many good working cell phones are thrown out.

About The Author

Declan Tobin is a successful freelance writer providing advice for consumers on purchasing a variety of Prepaid Phone Plans which includes Cell prepaid plans, Carriers, and more!
Can VOIP Calling Save You Money on Your Phone Bill

by: Jessica Liu

As high speed and broadband internet connections are becoming more prevalent in homes across the United States, people are asking themselves can VOIP calling save me money on my phone bill? To answer this question you need to take a deeper look at VOIP calling and the expenses related to switching to VOIP.

The first thing to you should know is how VOIP calling works. When you place a VOIP call it works by converting the voice signal that you speak into the phone handset into a digital signal and sending it over the internet. This signal is then converted back into a voice signal and comes out of the earpiece on the other end. By sending the signal over the internet it doesn?t matter how far it has to go, a call across the street costs the same as call across the country. For people who have monthly long distance bills that are over $20, VOIP calling may be able to save you money on your phone bill.

When evaluating VOIP services you should have an idea of your monthly calling volume. The best thing to do is look at your phone bill for the past three months and figure out how many minutes you are using. If you are using less than 500 minutes a month you will find VOIP calling plans that are probably much less than your monthly phone bill. If you are using over 1000 minutes each month you?ll probably find unlimited calling plans will be more cost effective. If you make a lot of international calls, check to see if those calls are included in the plans you are evaluating.

Some VOIP services require that you update your telephone equipment. This is especially important if you have more then one phone in the house. The key to the VOIP system is VOIP router. It connects your broadband internet access to your new phone system. Some routers only interface with newer VOIP phones, meaning you will have to purchase new phones. Some routers allow you to plug conventional phones into them and keep your existing equipment. This really becomes an important factor if you have more than one telephone in your house.

Another factor to consider is the length of the contract. Many companies offer month to month contracts, others offer yearly, and some offer two year contracts. While a two year contract may look attractive from a price standpoint, locking yourself into a developing technology for twenty four months is something to give serious consideration to. A one year contract usually provides the best trade off between price and time commitment.

© Copyright VOIPTelephoneSystem.org, All Rights Reserved.

About The Author

Jessica Liu writes articles about VOIP for http://www.voiptelephonesystem.org which cover VOIP technology and VOIP related news.

Ameriplan Consumer Protection Starts With Phone

by: Tim Merrell, the Dental Guy

As more and more big companies, school districts and other municipals are forced to cut healthcare and retirement benefits, it will be up to the consumer to find cost cutting measures. This is one of the reasons that Consumer Driven Healthcare like Ameriplan is experiencing a huge growth market.

If your car has a problem, you call different auto repair shops and compare prices regarding the problem. However, many people don?t call about their dental costs, or doctor?s expenses, because they assume all healthcare prices are set by some standard. Not True! Doctors set their own prices. However, Ameriplan, a company in business since 1992, is helping consumers obtain cost savings on health and dental procedures.

Most insurance dental plans have a cap of $1000.00 per year, and today, that won?t even cover a root canal. Outlined in this updated 2005 document, at http://www.cda.org/cda_member/pubs/update0205/qa.htm you can see where traditional dental insurance is lacking. This problem with current dental insurance is another reason people turn to AmeriplanUSA. Ameriplan has no waiting periods.

Dentists and doctors do not publish their prices, and they charge a higher rate for those with no coverage. If you don't believe me, pick up the best selling book called The New Health Insurance Solution. In this book the best selling author, Paul Zane Pilzer, writes on page 8, that doctors typically charge from 150 to 500 percent more for uninsured clients. Ameriplan is not insurance, but it does give you the purchasing power of discounted rates offered to insured clients, but at a much lower monthly rate than traditional insurance.

We as consumers need to push for legislation to make price comparisons easier for the consumer. Just calling and asking ?How much is an office visit? may not get you the correct answer, because as in the Dental Code examples below, these two items are both office visits. To compare actual prices, one needs to use the Dental Procedure Codes. That?s why we need legislation. These codes are not available to the general public.

D0150 Comprehensive oral Evaluation

D0140 Limited Oral Evaluation

After days of research and my wife, Gina?s web know how, I found common dental procedure codes. We listed them at http://www.lowcostrootcanal.com and you can use them to compare your dental costs today.

About The Author

Tim Merrell, dubbed, the Dental Guy, http://www.thirdpocket.com/abouttim.htm and he brings his years of expertise in the employee benefits' industry.
